Sunny Boracay

This post is over a year late, Haha, but I do think it's still worth posting! :)

This, everyone, is Boracay. While we have a LOT of beautiful beaches in the Philippines, this is by far the most popular! I can think of many reasons why, but I'll let the pictures do the talking.

I just had to take a picture of this couple! I found it so cute and funny that it's the girl, in her white dress and veil, who's setting up the camera while the guys stands to watch! haha :)

This kid is really good at skim boarding!

We stayed at Two Seasons, and I highly recommend it!! It's located in Station 1, which is the best part of the beach strip. You can check their website for photos of the rooms and their rates.

We saw this beautiful fireworks display that night, care of a couple who got married by the beach. :) I REALLY want to have a beach wedding one day. Fingers crossed. :)

Come visit the Philippines, everyone! It really is such a happy, beautiful country! Come and see why Conde Nast Traveller Magazine named the country as one of the top holiday destinations for 2013.

I'm sure you'll enjoy! :)

If you want tips on where to eat when in Boracay, check out my other post here.

Food Trip in Boracay

For Filipinos, going to Boracay doesn't only mean basking in the warm sun and swimming in clear blue water. We go to Boracay not only armed with our newest swimwear and sunnies, we also go to Boracay with a list of restaurants to visit.

My friends and I would even go as far as visiting a different restaurant per meal. We schedule it beforehand too! Yes. People go on a diet before a Boracay trip not just because they want to look cute in their bikinis but also because they need a lot of space in your tummy for all the great food you can eat.

I've listed down 4 restaurants/food stalls in Boracay that you just CANNOT miss!

1. Jonah's Fruit Shake and Snack Bar
You can't go to Boracay without visiting Jonah's. I think this is most Filipinos' first stop whenever they go to Boracay. They are best know for their Milk and Fruit Shakes, my favorite being the Choco Peanut Milk Shake. It's deadly (in a good way) and packed with  calories, but so, SO worth it.

2. Real Coffee
Real Coffee is best known for their Calamansi Muffin and breakfast food. I have many friends who would bring home boxes of the Calamansi Muffin to share with their family. I don't like Calamansi though, so I don't order this often. But I love their omelettes!!! Servings are huge too!

True that!
3. Chori Burger and Isaw
You can find this in stalls scattered all over the island. Chori burger or Chorizo Burger is my FAVORITE! I ate this twice a day, everyday on our last Boracay trip. Haha! It's a little spicy which is absolutely perfect for me! Isaw is actually barbecued pig or chicken intestines! We do eat everything here in the Philippines!

If your stomach is sensitive, I wouldn't recommend these two. But if not, THIS IS A MUST TRY. Be careful though, you wouldn't want to ruin your trip in this beautiful island with a stomach flu. :)

5. Mañana
And lastly, Mañana. It's my favorite restaurant in Boracay! We saved the best for last and ate here on our last day. They serve really good Mexican food! I always order the Chimichanga. They also have the most refreshing Iced Tea shake here. You have to order that too!

Amanpulo : The Beach

And the best part of this trip-- the beach.

Wow. I've seen many beautiful beaches in this country but nothing can ever compare to the beauty of Amanpulo's white sand beach.

Here's my cousin looking for the baby sharks. Really. Hahaha we were assured that they were harmless, but I was still pretty scared.

Wow. See how clear the water is? The sand is really fine too!

We were blessed with great weather. We were told that it had been raining a few days before we arrived!

Boats for snorkeling! More on that on my next post!

So happy to be here I could just dance in the sand and live here forever! :)

That afternoon, while everyone headed back to the Casitas, my cousin and I wanted to make the most out of the trip and we asked to be left at the beach. Good thing we stayed because we were able to witness the most amazing sunset I've ever seen!

One side was a cool shade of pink and purple.

The other side was a bright shade of orange and yellow. Too awesome!

It only started to rain on the day that we were leaving! Such ominous looking clouds in the background!

There's too much to do on this island, we were only able to explore the other side of the island right before heading back to the airstrip.

I would have wanted to stay in that raft in the middle of the sea!

This side is for watersports such as wind surfing. My cousins wanted to try it but we didn't have anymore time.

Here's the view from the airplane, the island is too beautiful for words! Praying we can take another trip here soon!
